Undergoing a transformation of new retail, housing, and interest from an increasingly young and diverse demographic group, the Marmalade District of Salt Lake City became a prime candidate for a new branch library of the Salt Lake City Library system.  Taking a cue from this transitional phase of the district, the design team sought to create a material palette that embodied the evolution and diversity of the Marmalade District.  This 19,000 SF library was the beginning of a phased block development that includes mixed use housing and retail components, along with an outdoor park amenity.
